President Ilir Meta has again focused on the depopulation of the country, calling it the greatest drama.
This time he quoted a report by the Economic Commission for Europe at the United Nations, which suggests that Albania tops the list of countries that have experienced the largest increase in emigration in 2020, despite the pandemic.
The Head of State writes in Facenook that “According to these conclusions the average number of emigrants in 2020 was over 550 citizens per 100 thousand inhabitants, a significantly increasing trend compared to 2015 when the indicator was about 350 immigrants per 100 thousand inhabitants.”
Meta says that the efforts of all actors should be multiplied, seeking to create concrete and realistic programs to curb the departure of Albanians.
“Let us do everything so that the eagles stay and return to their nest and Albania rises up, where the dreams and sacrifices of the Albanians deserve it” ,
writes among other things the Head of State.
