The Albanian Parliament has rejected the decree of President Meta for the law on “Military Career” at the end of today’s parliamentary session. The decree of the head of state was rejected with 83 votes against and 10 abstentions.
Meta returned the law “On military career in the Armed Forces” on the grounds that it discourages the education of young people and promotes the misconception that he finds a job and “no school”.
There has been a long-running dispute between the Presidency and the Government, prompting the head of state to return many laws for reconsideration, but Meta’s decrees have been overturned in the Assembly
In today’s plenary session, the deputies also approved with 92 votes the amendments to the draft law on ‘Republic Guard’ and with 88 votes the change of the name of the Municipality of Ura Vajgurore in the Municipality of Dimal.
